      The DUO‐Korea Fellowship Programme was established in 2001 with the aim of promoting exchanges of people between Korea and 30 European countries on a balanced and permanent basis. In this respect, DUO‐Korea requires that a PAIR (two persons) of students be exchanged in the framework of a cooperative project.

    • The Turkish government has a scholarship programme for international students who would like to study in Turkey. 

      It's available for bachelor, master and PhD students.

    • The Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium annually offers scholarships for language or degree learning to students in the Benelux region. Currently the following programmes are open for application:

      Taiwan Scholarship:

    • In the Belgian legislation, the extension procedure for students who have their residency based on studies, has been changed substantially compared to previous years.

      As of now you are obliged to initiate the extension procedure of your Belgian ID card at the latest 15 days before the expiration date. This is the most significant change!

    • On the 19th of February 2019 the second edition of the International Student Conference was held as part of the Week of the Student at the VUB. The first one was spearheaded by Jimmy Hendry Nzally, PhD student and former chair of the International Student Platform. The conference is a collaboration between ISP and the Student Council on university policy. At VUB it is important that students can voice their opinion on key issues. As 21% of the student body has an international background it is also vital they get the opportunity to participate in the decision making.
