How to use the VUB apps

Would you like to read your e-mails on your smartphone or sync your Facebook calendar to your Outlook App? We are here to guide you through the wonderful world of our VUB apps in a few easy steps.

Now there are a number of apps for smartphone and tablet to make your life as a VUB'er even easier. Your official mailbox in the Outlook App, announcements by teachers and study material in the Canvas Student App and the option to store files in the Cloud and consult them on the go with the OneDrive App. You can even sync your Facebook Calendar with the Outlook App so you don’t miss another party.

    Office 365

As a VUB student you have free access to Office 365. What does this mean? First and foremost this is where you can find your official VUB mailbox. Your Outlook e-mail address is the only one the university uses to send you e-mails. In addition to your mailbox your Office account allows you to download some useful Microsoft programmes like Word, Excel and PowerPoint on up to 5 different computers for free. OneDrive allows you to store up to 1 terabyte in the Cloud. Very useful when you are working on group assignments because this allows you to share and co-edit files.

    Canvas

Canvas is the brand-new online VUB learning platform. This is where teachers and professors post study material and announcements. If you have registered all your courses in the Student SelfService properly you will see all your active courses in Canvas as well. Don’t worry if you have unregistered a course and still see it in Canvas. The course will disappear soon. You don’t need notify anyone.

    My Timetable and iCalendar

To make planning nice and easy VUB has developed two calendar apps.
On the one hand we have the My Timetable App. You can use this to compile your personal timetable. Unfortunately this app is currently unavailable. We expect it to be up and running in November.

iCalendar allows you to sync the online timetables to your Office 365 calendar. iCalendar updates automatically when changes are made to the timetable.
