    Being a student isn't easy right now. Studying, attending online classes, playing sports, relaxing; everything is different nowadays. And still, you're doing it, even though it's anything but easy. 

    Know that you're not alone. VUB is here to support and help you, and give you courage, so you can make the best out of this year!

    Student life

    Student life isn't what it used to be for now. But don't worry too much, plenty of fun activities are still being organised. A perfect way to keep in touch with other students!

    Events and culture

    • Looking for an overview of all corona proof VUB-events? Follow Student Events VUB on Facebook so you don't miss anything!
    • A digital campus? You can find it on the VUB Digital Campus Discord, made by a few VUB-students. Create an account and enjoy student life!
    • Pilar often organises livestreams with music. Check their Facebook page for updates! Would you rather take a virtual walk through their exhibition space? That's also possible! Visit their website to do so.

    VUB Escape Room

    Discover the VUB campus in this VUB Escape Room! Our VUB mascot helps you to get through this adventure, do you manage to escape?

    Sport

    The VUB Sports Department helps you move! There are free pilates or mindfullness classes, but also workout video's. Check the complete offer on the website and keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates.

    PS: Do you have a VUB sports card? Then you can participate to livestreams of some of the most popular group sessions! Check it out!

    City game Ixelles

    Do you want to discover Ixelles in a more original way than just walking around? Participate at City Safari XL, an interactive city game!

    The website is in Dutch, but don't let that stop you, the game can be played in English.

    Well-being

    Do you need someone to talk to? Are you not feeling great? Depending on your needs, there are different people or initiatives for you.

    Meeting Point Study Guidance

    Are you experiencing stress, anxiety or other psychological complaints? Study Guidance is still here for you. You can call them from Monday till Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM on 02/629 23 06

    For students, by students

    • Start to Talk: Together with other students and moderators, you can talk anonymously about things you're struggling with.  More information here.
    • PERSpective: Would you like to go for a walk while having a nice conversation? Or are you looking for a motivational playlist? You can find that, and more, on this Facebookpage
    • VUB Social Sciences Support Group: A platform to talk, excange tips or just be there for each other. There's also a WhatsApp group available. Click here for more information.
    • Brussels student initiatives: Looking for 1 place where initiatives of different student organisations are shared? You'll find it on this Facebook page

    VUBuddy

    The VUBuddy project is a project where VUB students guide new and international students across the VUB community. It's a big step to start at a (new) university, but during a pandemic, it's even a bit harder to do so!

    Kotcoach

    Are you staying at a VUB dorm? Kotcoach Jelle is there for you! 

    He's here to coordinate the housing-life in our VUB-accommodations, prevent loneliness and instigate friendships.

    Would you like to start with some tips and tricks? Or are you looking for correct information? Visit one of these websites:

    • VUB Study Guidance has overview of Q&A sessions or some useful tips & tricks on different topics.
    • Everyoneok is online intervention and gives you a step-by-step plan that can help you to feel calmer.
    • Would you like to talk with other young people about your feelings in this period? That's possible in one of these 'circles', organised for young people by We have the choice. More info here.

    Professional help

    Would you rather speak to someone professionally? 

    • You can reach out to our student psychologists. Starting from December 1st, 2 psychologists from BRUCC will join the team of VUB psychologists.
    • BRUCC is also available for guidance. They also organise workshops. 
    • Need someone after office hours? You can contact CHS 24/7.
    • Visit TEJO BXL. It's completely free and you'll be helped immediately.
    • Want a conversation in French? Call Télé-acceuil Bruxelles on 107 or Ecoute-enfants on 103.  
    • If you need medical help, you can contact the University's medical practice.
