Go Abroad Fair: are you ready to start your next international experience?

The Go Abroad Fair took place on Thursday, 14 October 2021 from 11:00-16:00 at the Study Guidance Centre.
The fair had stands from several organisations who shared their offer with you, be it for an exchange for studies, traineeships or volunteering! And this during, or even after your current VUB studies.

Our Go Abroad Fair was slightly different from previous years as we had fewer organisations present to ensure social distancing.

On the day itself, we had the Go Abroad info session where staff members from the VUB International Relations office gave all the necessary information about the Go Abroad experience. On Friday 15 October 2021 from 12:00-13:00 we had an online info session. You can find the powerpoint presentation here.

Want to know what options there are for you to go abroad for studies or internships within your study programme? Then check the faculty info sessions on your go abroad-options!

Going Abroad: What's in it for you?

There are loads of opportunities to go abroad while you are studying at VUB and loads of good reasons why you should look into it. Figures have shown that those who do spend time abroad:

    • double their chances of employment a year after graduation
    • 1/3 of Erasmus+ trainees are offered jobs in the company where they worked
    • Erasmus+ alumni find their first job faster and tend to earn 25% more
    • 3/4 employers say volunteering is a + for job seekers *

    Going abroad allows you to:

    • create an international mindset
    • develop a global network of friends
    • see the world while studying or doing an internship
    • grab a once in a lifetime opportunity
    • increase your self-confidence
    • improve your language skills.
