The symposium aims at gathering the chemical research community based in Flanders and at contributing to strengthen the community through scientific presentations and dissemination of research results. The scope of the symposium is broad and covers different aspects of chemical research. The symposium will be organized around the following topics:

    • Energy and environment
    • Chemical synthesis and methodologies

    • Chemical processes and reactor technologies

Along with lectures by plenary and keynote speakers from academic institutes, we are delighted to announce that additional keynote lectures will be given by industry representatives from Janssen Pharmaceutica, Eastman and essenscia.

Additionally, we would like to bring to your attention the social program. On Monday evening (14/10), Prof. Kristof Van Hecke will give a lecture titled “A Chemical View on Wine and its Terroir”. After this lecture, you will be able to use your newly acquired knowledge at a wine tasting. On Tuesday (15/10), you are kindly invited to attend the Conference Dinner, followed by a live performance by “Totally Soul”.

PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are invited to participate actively and to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentation.

    Important dates:

Abstract submission deadline: April 26, 2019

Acknowledgment of acceptance: June 15, 2019
