    Excel for Junior Researchers

    Learning objectives:

    - Handy and efficient use of spreadsheet software (MS Excel) and analytical tools (e.g. data tables, goal seek, solver) that are included in the spreadsheet software.
    - Short introduction of Analytics Life Cycle
    - Hands-on training to make optimal decisions based on quantitative data and modelling

    Teaching methods:
    Theory and exercises are integrated into a hands-on approach where the participants cooperate in an active manner. 

    Prior knowledge & preparations: 

    You need a basic level of Excel.

    Practical information:

    Day 1: basic formulas applicable for all fields of expertise: 13th of December 2018 - from 10am until 1pm

    Day 2: application of basic formulas in a (economic) case study: 14th of December 2018 - from 10am until 1pm

    Campus Etterbeek room D1.07 (both days)

    1 ECTS for active participation

    PLEASE BRING A FULLY CHARGED LAPTOP TO THE SESSION !!

    Please be aware of the fact that the cancellation and no-show policy of VUB applies. Cancellation of your participation is only allowed up to 48 hours before the start of the course. Otherwise, the policy as described on the doctoral school website will be followed.
