You will find all the information that you need on this page if you’re interested in going on an exchange as a Social Sciences, Communicatiewetenschappen, Sociologie or Politieke Wetenschappen student.
To start your journey, have a look at the following presentations:
When?
Bachelor year 3
- 1st semester: Social Sciences, Communicatiewetenschappen
- 1st or 2nd semester: Sociologie
- 1st and/or 2nd semester: Politieke Wetenschappen
Master
- 1st semester only
Who?
Bachelor
You need to:
- have passed your courses of bachelor's year 1 and bachelor's year 2
Master
You need to:
- have passed all courses of your briding, preparatory or bachelor program
Note: It is not allowed to do an internship abroad.
How?
Nomination EU destination
- Complete your nomination dossier (online soon)
- Send your application to mobility.es@vub.be
- Deadline is February 15, 2021
All applications will be ranked according to the overall results. This will only come into play when more students apply for the same destination than the number of places that is available.
Nomination non-EU destination
- Select your top destination from this website
- Select 2 back-up EU destinations from the list below
- Express you interest before December 15, 2020 to exchange.outgoing@vub.be and mobility.es@vub.be
- Complete your nomination dossier (online soon)
- Send your application to mobility.es@vub.be
- Deadline is February 15, 2021
All applications will be ranked according to the overall results. This will only come into play when more students apply for the same destination than the number of places that is available.
Keep in mind that being nominated to go on an exchange does not automatically mean that you are allowed to go on an exchange. All of the requirements mentioned above should be met before you are allowed to leave.
Learning Agreement
After you have nominated and have received your destination, you will have to come up with a learning agreement. More information soon.

You will find all the information that you need on this page if you’re interested in going on an exchange as a Business Economics, TEW, Handelsingenieur, International Business or Business & Technology student.
When?
You can go on an exchange for one semester or, preferably, one academic year in your 3rd bachelor's year and/or your 1st master's year.
Who?
In principle, you need to:
- have obtained an average of 60% in the years before your application and in the first semester of current academic year
- have no failed courses or courses to which you were absent before leaving

- Deadline is February 15, 2021
Nomination non-EU destination
- Select your top destination from this website
- Select 2 back-up EU destinations from the list below

Learning agreement
After you have nominated and have received your destination, you will have to come up with a learning agreement.
In short: in your learning agreement you propose the courses that you will be taking at your guest university.
You will need to take a look at the offer of your guest university (website) yourself and come up with a proposal of your own.
