    CONFLICTS WITH A PROFESSOR OR A FACULTY

    If you are having a problem with a professor or with your faculty, you can contact the ombudsperson who deals with the complaints relating to education and examination organisation.

    • If you have complaints or suggestions that relate to the organisation of classes and exams, the assessment of your thesis, deliberations, the announcement of your study results, you can contact the ombudsperson of the faculty.
    • If the facultary person is an involved party in the conflict which jeopordizes his/her indepence and impartiality, or in case of abscence of the facultary ombudsperson the student can appeal to the central ombudsperson.
    • PhD students can appeal to the ombudsperson for PhD-students.

    CONFLICTS WITH FELLOW STUDENTS OR HOUSEMATES

    In cases of conflicts with your fellow students and/or housemates, CAW Brussel acts as a conciliator.

    For the problems and conflicts you are facing with other students and your housemates, you can contact CAW Brussel for support and mediation. Their web page is in Dutch; however, they provide service in English on the phone or via e-mail.

    CONFLICTS WITH YOUR INTERNSHIP SUPERVISOR

    To reach a reconciliation with your internship supervisor about a problem or conflict regarding your internship, you can contact your faculty secretariat.

    If you experience a conflict with the supervisor of your internship and you can not reach a mutual agreement, you can contact the secretariat of your faculty. They can act as a mediator.

    For the conflicts you are experiencing with your landlord of the student housing, you can contact CAW Brussel.

    CAW Brussel provides service of mediation and free legal advice for issues related to problems with landlords. Their website is only in Dutch, but you can contact them via e-mail or phone for support in English.
