ABSENCE OF A DOCENT DURING CLASS OR EXAM

If the docent or professor of a course is absent during an exam or class, be sure to check Canvas and/or your VUB e-mail first.

    Absence during class

Check if your docent left an announcement on Canvas, or if you received an e-mail on your VUB account concerning a change of schedule or location. If not, you can call or pass by the secretariat of the faculty to check if the docent left a notification. If no notification was left, you can leave the class after 15 minutes.

    Absence during exam

Contact the secretariat of your faculty to check if the docent left a notification. The exam schedule expires after one hour of waiting time. In mutual agreement with your docent, a new exam schedule must be agreed upon.

ARRIVING LATE AT OR MISSING AN EXAM

If the reason for arriving late at or missing an exam is beyond your control, you need to inform your faculty secretariat. If you cannot prove that it is beyond your control, you lose your chance to re-schedule your exam.

    Superior force

If you miss your exam and you can provide sufficient proof that it was beyond your control, you can re-schedule your exam. Each case of superior force as well as the request to re-schedule the exam should be notified to the secretariat of the faculty through e-mail on the day of the exam. More information can be found in the Teaching and Examination Regulations below.

    Without a superior force

Without sufficient proof of superior force, you can not re-schedule your exam. You can take the exam in the second exam session.
